A coming of age story of twin
brothers who grow up on a hunting plantation in South Georgia. After their
mother's death in childbirth and their father's subsequent suicide, the boys
are raised by their eccentric Uncle, Charlie. With the help from the
plantation's owner, Colonel O’Hearn, the servants and hunting guides, the boys
learn to respect the land, their family and their life. Over the course of two
decades, the boys come of age, shedding their innocence in the pursuit of
women, war and the American dream.

Lost in life and living with guilt, Atticus Boone (27),
lives at home with his abusive father on top of the beat-up garage in the back
of his father’s house. His twin brother (Caleb) used to live there, until he
killed himself two years back while Atticus was away at college doing his Ph.D.
He came home as soon as he heard his brother had passed away and has never
left. He has a 17 year old, white lab named Scout who is his best friend. Scout
was he and his deceased brother’s dog growing up. Atticus took him to college
with him. He feels tremendous guilt for leaving his brother in the hands of his
abusive father while he was away and blames himself for his death. As his job,
Atticus runs his estranged uncle’s drive-thru wedding chapel. He starts to find
himself through the characters he meets there that also have life problems.
